Providing support and development opportunities for circus artists is one of our core principles.
We provide access to equipment and a training space for independent circus artists at the lowest possible cost. Artists receive unlimited non-exclusive access to the Freo Big Top whenever it’s not in use for CircusWA’s programs and services. We also welcome applications for in kind use of the space for independent creative developments. To discuss this option please email our artistic director, Jo Smith. For further information or to sign up as a space user, please visit the Train in the Big Top webpage.
Further initiatives to support independent artists will be announced in the near future. Keep an eye on the Services webpage for updates.
CircusWA acknowledges the Whadjuk Noongar People are the spiritual and cultural birdiyangara (custodians) of the land upon which we train, create and perform.
Fremantle is Walyalup, sited on the banks of the Derbal Yerrigan.
We recognise the Whadjuk Noongar people’s continuing connection to land, waters and culture and pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.
