Pass The Sault: at Freo Street Arts

We are so excited to be part of another Fremantle International Street Arts Festival. Each year over the Easter long weekend, the streets of Fremantle are transformed into an open-air theatre of the amazing, weird and wacky, while Fremantle’s famous alfresco dining steps up a notch, with pop-up bars and eateries extending into the streets. Entertainment is found around several major ‘pitches’ and the streets are alive with roving performers.

Our Youth Academy will be back on the Esplanade Pitch this year with a new work by emerging Director Ella Norton. Working alongside the youth performers their skills and creative concepts have been brought together in a fun exploration of living life in a cafe – oh so Freo!

PASS THE SAULT

The cafe is open. Find a table, grab a coffee and watch characters collide as they cope with the calamities of life. Witness fresh heartbreak, first dates, caffein-addicted business deals, a lost lizard and a chef trying to keep this circus together. Pass the Sault is the perfect blend of acrobatics and medium roast high altitude organic arabica coffee beans, served fresh this fringe. Just add Salt.

Ella Norton is an award winning acrobatic and physical theatre performer with a penchant for the ridiculous. A Perth local, she found her creative home at CircusWA as a child and has worked for the last 8 years in the circus arts. Performing has taken her regionally, interstate and internationally, creating independently and with companies including WAs own YUCK Circus. Ella’s passion lies in creating work where character is central and essential, and enjoys encouraging others to step outside of their comfort zone and commit to the bit.
